After many years of going back and forth we finally committed to adopting a puppy. For those that know me you may be wondering what possessed me to do it with all that I have going on in my life. When I left my apt 3 Saturday's ago, it was with the intention of going with my girls shopping at the Tropical Park Farmers Market, not adoption. Well, that day the girls and I came home with a really cute mixed breed dog. His name is Chance and he is now part of our family. We fell in love with him on the spot and took him home. I saw Hannah and Isabella's faces light up and ask if we could adopt him. In that moment, I knew it would be the right thing to do. Giving a shelter dog a loving home is meaningful, but what you get in return is unmeasurable. Chance has given my children unconditional love and I see it in their faces. They know that having a pet is a responsibility and they have stepped up in a big way. Hannah wakes up extra early to make sure she walks him every morning before she sets out to school, Isabella jumps in to pick up poo because we were not quick enough, and Nicholas makes sure he is walking him in the afternoon alongside Hannah. But hearing Isabella tell me she is happy, Hannah mention how happy and grateful she is, and Nicholas tell the dog he loves him fills my heart to no end. Chance has filled our hearts already in such a short amount of time and I know he feels the love right back at him. Chance has given us a new leash on life by giving us a chance. (Pun Intended)
Hannah made a doggie shampoo that we will be trying on him soon, of course all organic non-gmo. I am also going to be researching doggie treats to make him and who knows maybe we will incorporate these into our farmers market goodies. Make it a wonderful week. Blessings, Z |
